Puppy Adoption

I Stand with my Pack

I Stand With My Pack is a female-run, non-profit organization that works locally and internationally to save the lives of animals and prevent suffering and cruelty.

ISWMP’s local efforts – which make up 98% of their work – focus on the successful removal of dogs from high-risk kill shelters in LA city and LA County, as well as other parts of California; they assist these dogs through the rehabilitative process and successfully place them in their forever homes.

Am I ready to adopt?

There’s nothing more heartbreaking than returning a rescue dog or a rescue cat to the rescue after realizing that said animal wasn’t a suitable addition to the family. To help ensure this doesn’t happen, there are several questions to ask yourself before adopting a pet.

Can I Afford A Pet?

Adoption fees are just the beginning. Vet exams and tests, vaccinations, medications, food, litter, toys, and regular checkups are a few examples of the costs to take into consideration—not to mention unforeseen expenses that may come into play further down the line.

Do I Have Enough Time To Care For A Pet?

Rescue dogs need a lot of exercise and attention, while rescue cats require play sessions to stay active. Do you have enough time to train your adopted pet? If you live alone and work long hours, who’s taking care of your rescue puppy?

Do I Have Suitable Accommodation?

Sometimes, your landlord or condo association may not allow pets. You should make certain this isn’t an issue. Also important to take into consideration is the size of your dwelling and whether your rescue dog will have easy access to an outside space and you are able to keep your rescue cat indoors.

Are My Children Responsible Enough For A Pet?

Very often, it’s the youngsters in the family that push for a cat or dog adoption. However, make sure your kids understand the responsibilities entailed with pet adoption. Furthermore, certain breeds of cats and dogs don’t mix well with large families and young children and vice versa. Before deciding to adopt, you should look into what breed might suit the family and everyone’s lifestyle.

Are you ready to adopt?

Ready to Adopt one of the Puppies?

If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs please fill out the adoption application, link is above. Please add the desired dog’s name in your application.

The application review, approval and process can take 1-3 weeks. Please be patient.

Even though we get several wonderful applications we can only pick one and due to lack of resources we cannot get back to every single applicant.

After your application is approved we would do a home check as well as arrange a meet and greet. We require that all members of the family are present at the meet and greet.

If all goes well and after the adoption fee is submitted we will arrange a day and time to situate dog(s) into your home.
